...and all 3 of them - unfortunately not the best photo quality...

Those of you who have been visiting my website frequently may have noticed that they will not find any cats with extremely long heads and (too) high placed ears in my cattery. My preference still is and always will be the "old" type of NFO with a head shaped like a perfect triangle according to the standard. Unfortunately many (new) breeders and just as many judges at catshows nowadays seem to ignore this standard completely. After more than 20 years of breeding activities and certainly many mistakes concerning the choice of kittens to keep my current priority list (in 2010) is as follows:

1) easy going, friendly and relaxed temper

2) strongly built long body with matching weight

3) good profile (= straight nose and strong chin), long tail

4) nice coat

5) lynx tips and white tail tip :-)

6) colour and markings

After all these years I'm still favouring classic (blotched) tabbies because even with a big coat you will still recognize the markings whereas mackerel in combination with a big coat will mostly appear kind of "washed out"...

In the early days I used to choose my cats by colour. Big mistake!! Today colour is way down at the end of my priority list...
